Humble Beginnings
My husband purchased a few acres of land in a very beautiful part of the Arkansas Ozark Mountains in1974. We built a small primitive cabin above the large creek that runs through it (Piney Creek). This gave us a place to stay on weekends while we cleared the land and prepared a house site on the hill above it.
Our two boys worked alongside of us to build our house, we moved in to it in 1985 even though it wasn’t completed. I have to admit it feels like we are still working on it!
We have a large vegetable garden with some fruit trees, blackberries, strawberries & bee hives.
Through the years we have had many animals, both domestic & wild! They include, goats, cows, pigs, geese, turkeys and guinea fowl. Today we have limited ourselves to chickens, Pineywoods cattle, dogs, cats and best of all KuneKunes!
We are constantly amazed at the ease of raising KuneKunes and the joy that they bring to us and everyone that is near them. When I tell people about the breed I can tell they almost don’t believe me, well seeing is believing & everyone that is interested in them should visit a Kunekune Farm. Our farm is always open to visitors!
